FACA LÍQUIDA Explora la relación entre el agua y el cuerpo, mediada por la cultura. Parte de la intimidad de la memoria de los sentidos, ensaya juegos con distintas herramientas y artefactos. Un homenaje al trabajo manual y al contacto físico con la naturaleza. La percusión como el encuentro entre dos fisicalidades y el ritmo como el testimonio sonoro de la persistencia del cuerpo para quedarse en un lugar a través de la iteración de acciones y ciclos. El agua hace posible que una comunidad se establezca, y el ritmo simboliza esa permanencia. Aunque el agua suena siempre a agua, todo lo que la rodea y lo que origina le da marco e identidad. A la vez, ese repertorio específico de sonoridades acuáticas moldea la comunidad que hace posible. Aquí suena cuando corre por manantiales y tubos, cuando hacemos contacto con ella con nuestro cuerpo, con nuestras vasijas para recogerla, con nuestra ropa para ser lavada, con nuestras manos para hacer canicas de barro. Algunas personas de Várzea me contaron sus historias de agua y ritmo y este es también un homenaje a esos relatos. Fardos de lino se empujan contra la piedra para ser remojados, una espadela machaca fibras al ritmo de una canción, un molino desgrana maíz empujado por las corrientes. Son los movimientos guardados en estos cuerpos. Memoria del agua, del ritmo y de los objetos que usamos para interactuar con nuestro mundo.

FACA LÍQUIDA explores percussion as the encounter between physicalities, and rhythm as the sonic testament to the body's persistence in staying in one place through the repetition of actions and cycles. It explores the relationship between water and the body, mediated by culture. Parting from the intimacy of sensory memory, it rehearses games with tools and artifacts. A tribute to manual labor and physical contact with nature. Water makes it possible for a community to settle, while rhythm symbolizes that permanence. Although water always sounds like water, everything surrounding it and what it originates gives it context and identity. At the same time, this specific repertoire of aquatic sonorities shapes the community that relies on it. Some people from Várzea shared their stories of water and rhythm with me, and this is also a tribute to those narratives. Water flowing through springs and pipes, vessels in line waiting to be filled in the fountain, clothes and bales of linen pushed against stones to be soaked, pestlers crushing fibers to the rhythm of a song, a mill grinding corn powered by the currents.These are the movements stored in these bodies: memory of water, rhythm, and the objects we use to interact with our world.

Binaural Nodar es un proyecto cultural que opera en la región portuguesa de Viseu Dão Lafões, en las áreas de arte sonoro, documentación, educación y radio. “El cantar de las fuentes” fue una convocatoria para trabajar con el agua en el pueblo de Várzea de Calde, una comunidad muy pequeña rodeada de manantiales y dedicada principalmente al cultivo y producción de lino a muy pequeña escala y utilizando herramientas tradicionales.


Binaural Nodar is a cultural project operating in the Portuguese region of Viseu Dão Lafões, focusing on sound art, documentation, education and radio. "El cantar de las fuentes" ("The Singing of the Springs") was a call to work with water in the village of Várzea de Calde, a very small community surrounded by springs and primarily dedicated to the cultivation and production of linen on a very small scale, using traditional tools.
