En este taller exploramos las posibilidades creativas de los libros de artistas a través de un proyecto personal y mediante el estudio y la experimentación con materiales, lenguajes y soportes. Trabajamos en la confección de una pieza única realizada a mano de principio a fin, incluida su encuadernación. Los objetivos del curso son: acercarnos a los aspectos conceptuales y prácticos de la confección de un libro de artista, involucrarnos en el proceso de creación de un libro, (desde el concepto inicial hasta el desarrollo de su estructura y su narrativa), explorar técnicas y lenguajes con el fin de elegir lo más adecuado para cada proyecto y compartir procesos de trabajos personales en un contexto grupal.
El modelo de trabajo está basado en la investigación y cada proyecto tiene un seguimiento personalizado. Los temas a desarrollar en cada pieza son libres y las técnicas a trabajar se adaptan a los deseos y habilidades de cada participante, poniendo el foco en las relaciones entre contenido, lenguaje y estructura para desarrollar una narrativa.
Ya que los libros de artista existen en las intersecciones de varias disciplinas, se incluye la posibilidad de trabajar con técnicas y materiales diversos como dibujo, pintura, collage, escritura, fotografía y grabado.
In this workshop, we explore the creative possibilities of artist’s books through a personal project, studying and experimenting with materials, languages, and formats. Participants work on creating a unique piece, made entirely by hand from start to finish, including its binding. The course objectives are: to approach both the conceptual and practical aspects of making an artist’s book, to engage in the process of creating a book (from the initial concept to the development of its structure and narrative), to explore techniques and languages and choose the most suitable for each project, and to share personal work processes in a group context.
Our practice follows a research-oriented model and each project receives personalized guidance. The themes of each piece are open, and the techniques used are adapted to the interests and skills of each participant. The focus is on the relationships between content, language, and structure in order to develop a cohesive narrative. Since artist’s books exist at the intersection of multiple creative practices, the workshop encourages an interdisciplinary approach, allowing participants to work with diverse techniques and materials such as drawing, painting, collage, writing, photography, and printmaking.
